Play on the final table lasted a gruelling six hours, double the length of previous event CSPT Ostrava. The action was stretched out as smaller stacks kept doubling up and although we saw lots of big pots there were few eliminations during the early stages of play.

CSPT Brno proved to be a fantastic success with a total of 131 players attending and prize pool of CZK 1,521,028. There was a great turnout from Czech and Slovak players as well as a mix of other nationalities with one player flying all the way over from Australia to take part in the event.

FINAL TABLE PROFILES

Seat 1    Josef Šamánek (113k in chips)

Well known Czech Poker Player Josef recently cashed in PokerStars EPT London, running deep in to 13th place, he also won 72,000 euros at the Uni Bet open placing in 3rd. An extremely intelligent 25 year old who studies computer science says his playing style is aggressive.

Seat 2    Miroslav Ratkovský  (351k in chips)

His favourite poker is tournament freezeouts and that’s exactly what Miroslav is playing today. At the age of 22 he’s been playing poker for just 3 years now, although he has cashed in smaller events winning 500 euros in Bratislava recently. He starts today with a healthy stack and says he likes the poker style of Gus Hansen.

Seat 3    Martin Hrubý (357k in chips)

We here this name more and more recently, after 9 years of playing poker, Martin has really started to make a name for himself. His favourite memory to date is placing 2nd in the PokerStars WCOOP $1050 buyin MTT. He really knows how to adapt to the table and read his opponents well. His most respected poker pro is Phil Ivey.

Seat 4    Jirí Halouzka (403k in chips)

Playing poker for 3 years now, Jiri has already had some fairly nice cashes in his poker career, 40,000 CZK in 2009 during Prague. Any money he makes today will be invested back in to poker as he loves to play live tournaments. Our chip leader at the start of the final table has a great chance of running deep in this event if not winning it.

Seat 5    Petr Dohnal (251k in chips)

Petr says money is for enjoying, if he wins big today the money will spent on having fun and enjoying life to the full. At 27 years old and a local from Brno he’s been playing just 2 years now but already has a few final tables under his belt during smaller tournaments. He’s on home ground today and is 100% enjoying his time during this CSPT.

Seat 6    Elmar Muller (222k in chips)

Our only German at the final table says his style is loose aggressive willing to get involved in as many pots as possible and keeping his opponents on the edge of their seat is his game. Just 25 years old but a poker professional by career says his most respected poker player is Jason Mercier.

Seat 7    Luboš Krupák (147k in chips)

Our seat 7 on this final table has only been playing poker for 1 year now but is enjoying his time playing poker. He’s 26 years old and has a few cashes under his belt so far, however this CSPT final table will be his biggest claim to date. He claims to be a loose player but could this be a bluff?

Seat 8    Andrej Bartovic (79k in chips)

Last at the table and last in chips, Andrej has his work cut out today but says he’s a lucky player. Our 34 year old is a Lawyer and Property manager by day, but found poker 1.5 years ago. Any money he makes today will go straight back in to his bankroll and passion for the game.

FINAL TABLE PROFILES

Seat 1    Ján  Vanya

This 52 year old has only been playing for a year. He’s used to strategy games and, being an ex-chess player, he should also know a thing or two about odds. Jan owns two casinos in the Czech Republic. Tight play is his preferred style of play and Hold’em is the game he chooses to play most.

Seat 2    Andrej Cintula

A  student originally from Slovak Republic, Andrej found his way on to the poker scene six years ago whilst living in the United States. His girlfriend has been here the whole time to support him during this tournament and this 23 year old is very happy to have made a CSPT final table. He has the most experience at the table and with his tight-Aggressive approach to Hold’em has a big chance of making the at least one of the final three.

Seat 3    Sebastian Müller

Sebastian Müller is our only German at the table. He started 3 years ago learning with friends from university. This 22 year old plays a semi-loose-aggressive style. He made it to this to this final table via a live satellite and if he wins big today the winnings will be spent on holidays and other live events. He makes a living as a professional poker player, his main game being NL Hold’em Cash Games. Sebastian looks calm and feels calm going in to today’s final table.

Seat 4    Oldřich Hanton

Starts today as our chip leader with 382k in chips, he’s cashed in many live event - his biggest win to date is 152,000 CZK. Just 26 years old from Czech Republic and a well known poker player over the past few years, his favourite game is Texas Hold’em.

Seat 5    Libor Petřík

Petřík from Czech Republic has been playing poker for one year. This 34 year old made a direct buy-in to the tournament and is very happy to be here today hoping to beat his previous biggest cash of 7500 Euros.  Winning big today would mean he could spend more money on his family, and being a big poker fan, it would be a dream winning the CSPT.

Seat 6    Petr Bulíř

Czech local Petr Bulíř is our second shortest stack at the table; he came 1st in a deep stack tournament in Prague for 400,000 CZK and a bracelet plus many more cashes in live events. A Poker Professional who also writes about the game here in Czech, Petr is a well-known face in the Czech poker community. Petr's has a unique skill for adapting to other players’ playing style. If he wins big today 70% will go back in to poker and 30% will be spent on living life.

Seat 7    Daniel Havlík

Another Czech local and just 21 years old Daniel has already won 50,000 CZK during the Czech Poker Tour. After learning to play with friends three years ago he is now a professional player with a tight aggressive style putting his opponents to the test constantly. Omaha is his favourite poker game, but he obviously knows his Hold’em too making today’s final table.

Seat 8    Martin Šujak

Martin Šujak from Slovak Republic loves poker and his favourite type of poker is No Limit Hold’em Cash games, but also enjoys playing tournaments; his biggest live cash to date is 6th in the Unibet open, cashing 25000 Euros. This Student brought directly in to CSPT Ostrava.
